Supplier Registration

If you or your company would like to register as a supplier with the South African Astronomical Observatory, you will need to be registered on the supplier database.  The SAAO has moved away from a shared database with the National Research Foundation and will be making use of the Central Supplier Database (CSD) of the National Treasury. The database offers the benefit of a central portal for suppliers to register once-off and with all government departments, state-owned enterprises and publicly funded institutions will have access to these suppliers. With immediate effect, you should register at www.csd.gov.za to take advantage of this. The SAAO and NRF will no longer be registering companies on any databases.

General conditions
Please see general conditions of contract below, which apply to all supply contracts and purchase orders entered into by the SAAO with its suppliers. These general conditions are mandatory as per the Public Finance Management Act and are published on the National Treasury Website.

Contract-specific conditions
Each bid invitation (inclusive of quotations, competitive auction, single-source supplies, etc.) include the unique conditions of that specific supply.
