SAAO visitors programme
The purpose of the South African Astronomical Observatory (SAAO) visitors programme is to bring eminent researchers, instrumentation specialists or individuals with exceptional skills to SAAO to perform research, collaborate on developing instruments and/or transfer skills.
Travel and subsistence should be suitably motivated.
There is no closing date for applications.
We encourage SAAO research groups to make use of this opportunity to bring visitors to South Africa.
Applications will be reviewed by an internal panel and scored according to the following criteria:
A. Potential of visit to contribute to research publications or other SAAO KPIs
B. Potential of visit to contribute student development and/or skills transfer
C. Profile of the visitor
D. Budget of the visit
