Aerial view of the Cape Town campus of the SAAO (former Royal Observatory), officially declared to be a National Heritage Site in 2018. The Main Building of 1825-28 is in the middle. At first the Observatory had only a small piece of land around that building but in 1840 it had reached its present extent.
