WEATHER FORECASTS FOR SALT AT THE SAAO (SUTHERLAND)
Weather forecasts for SALT are made using numerical meteorological forecast (Eta) model output data from the South African Weather Service (SAWS) and meteorological observations made in situ at Sutherland Observatory. These data are ingested by a forecast programme containing specially developed predictive algorithms and a forecast of meteorological parameters relevant to SALT operations is made.
